The lucky winners of the Million Dollar Road Trip to the NT travelled to Darwin in November, eagerly awaiting the chance to claim the grand $1 million cash prize.
Although they didn’t walk away with the million, they still won a $10,000 cash prize and created lifelong memories exploring the Northern Territory.
“We’ve had such an incredible time in the NT. Kakadu was unforgettable, and the Yellow Water boat cruise was a highlight,” said winner Bec Hyslop. “We also loved our time at Edith Falls—the campground was perfect, and the swim just a short walk away. Darwin and Uluru were amazing too.”
During their journey, the family immersed themselves in the NT’s local accommodations, attractions, and unique experiences, discovering the stunning landscapes and rich cultural heritage that make the region so special.
This exciting competition was a joint initiative by Tourism NT and Caravan Industry Association of Australia (aiming to inspire Australians to embark on unforgettable road trips to the Northern Territory.
From May to September 2024, the campaign encouraged travellers to explore NT’s regions, driving tourism to over 480 participating businesses. These businesses benefited from point-of-sale materials and digital assets distributed as part of the initiative.
With over 55,900 entries received—many from visitors booking camping accommodations—the campaign successfully showcased the NT as a must-visit destination for adventurous road trippers and nature enthusiasts alike.
